Join me in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park to hike Stonewall Peak! Trust me, it’s worth the drive. From the summit you are rewarded with panoramic views of the State Park and surrounding landscape. It’s is a moderate 4 mile hike located about an hour east of San Diego. It’s completely exposed so pack a hat and bug spray wouldn’t hurt. If it’s warm out, the flies can be brutal. With an earlyish start we can avoid some of the crowds and bugs. Please note the last 1/4 mile of this hike to the summit climbs up an exposed boulder with a railing for guidance. If you’re not good with heights, this is not the hike for you. Please assess your hiking ability before signing up as this is a moderate hike with elevation gain similar to Black Mountain Summit and Cowles Mountain.

Optional add on: A short drive away is Green Valley Falls. After hiking Stonewall Peak, we can check out the falls and take a dip in the cold water to cool off. It’s only about a 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot to the falls. Est time: additional 45 min (depending on how long you want to spend checking out the area). Expect crowds- this is a very popular area for families and other outdoor enthusiasts.

Please make sure to include your Instagram when you register. I’ll send out a group chat via IG two days before the hike, including the AllTrails link and other specifics. To ensure that our hiking meet up doesn’t take over the trail, I’ll be capping registrations at 20 people.
